go to settings, board and pieces and make sure play sounds is enabled. Other than that, if you're playing on a phone, make sure your ringer is enabled and volume is on, and if you're on a computer make sure your sound is enabled and make sure your tab/browser isn't muted.

It happens on and off randomly. I am on desktop. It is NOT something simple that has been stated and restated all over the help forums. My tab is NOT muted. My sound is NOT muted. It is not my browser. I clear my cache. I restart my browser. I try a different browser. I play a game with a bot, a coach, a puzzle, to test and make sure that won't fix the sound because sometimes that is all it takes.
The sound shows back up randomly. I play a few games with sound, but always terrified that it will go away, and it always happens again, for no reason. Nothing has changed. Nothing is different about my setup.
I cannot focus on a game without sound. And yet, maybe 1/10 of my games randomly start without sound.
I am really struggling with this. Someone must know the answer. Can someone please validate my experience and not just tell me to do the obvious things over and over? I am clearly not the only person experiencing this.
Happens to me sometimes. I have to close my browser and restart my computer. It works every time for me, but it is mildly annoying, and I don't know if it will work for everybody.
For about a month I have not been able to get sound on chess.com. Why is that, and what if anything can I do about it?
