Ok, disclaimer: I'm just a casual fan of chess who spontaneously clicked in to watch the YouTube livestream of Norway Chess 24 to see the Magnus-Hikaru matchup. But I'm watching as broadcast is congratulating the tournament for having a women's tournament for the first time, making it more exciting, and then during the break it shows an interview with the #1 women's chess player in the world. These are the questions you ask the best women's player while clapping yourself on the back for the inclusivity?
Interviewer: "Have you considered during your games to also go to the Confessional Booth and talk about your games as you're also playing the classical?"
Ju Wenjun: "Well, to be honest, I am not very talking person especially during the tournament. But okay, we still have 8 rounds to go so we will see. Maybe if it's a plain game then I will consider."
Interviewer: "I have this feeling that the first girl who will go to the Confessional will have a better chance of being invited to Norway Chess next year. What do you think?"
Ju Wenjun: "Wow. If this is true then it's very... [laugh] motivation for me to go to the Confessional Booth..."
