not improving

The key is to analyse your lost games and learn from your mistakes. Each loss is a lesson. Take it.

Instead of solely focusing on your rating, set specific and achievable goals for improvement in certain areas of your game. This can make the learning process more manageable.

Usually there are lots of tactics that plenty of people miss and don't take advantage of. You have to look at all possibilities several moves in advance if you feel there is weakness or something to take advantage of on your opponent's side. You could focus more on tactics and how to recognize them more and take time to look for them. For instance, there are plenty of pins in the beginning and middlegame. And in rook vs. knights endgame, there is plenty of room for forks, but lots of people move fast and don't take time to see these tactics (or even weaknesses your own side). I think that if you could just focus on specific areas and weaknesses in chess, you will improve and make mistakes less often.
