Not responding to a "Hello" in an "online" game?

How about you decide what you want to write and I'll decide what I want to write.

I find this pretty rude. I mean, such a game takes weeks. You are two people joining in an activity over some time. It is more than just politeness to say Hi. Even if you only see the movement of pieces, the guy on the other side of the world is a human being, not an appendix of your computer.

I have had people respond and not respond. I am appreciative of anyone willing to spend their time playing a total stranger and can ignore their unwillingness to spend additional time responding.

I usually don't notice the chat box until well into the game, if at all.  I am never deliberately rude, but I don't make it a point to focus on the chat box.

Regardless of how annoying some find it that others don't reply to 'Hi' 'hello' or 'gg' there is no need what so ever to post in the forums threats of physical violence against others. Its a persons personal choice whether they want to chat ir even reply during a game.
