offending rematch offer ?

Sort:
NicoDeMouscron

I was blamed by an opponent after I offered him a rematch. He invoked that because HE lost, HE should have decided whether he offers rematch or not. For him, the fact that I offered rematch was an offence.

Well... am I ignoring a basic rule of politeness, or is this guy paranoiac (and maybe resentful of loosing a lower rated player) ?

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

The only time I'd consider a rematch an offence is if I was utterly and totally outplayed from the first move. That way, the rematch would be nothing more than "hey, you're easy enough - give me some more rating points lolol". ;) Any other conditions, I'd say your opponent is over-sensitive being offended like that. You did nothing wrong.

Hi Nico, I think I got into the professional world of chess.com, and it should look the age of your opponent before making an analysis of his commentary on the one hand.
Moreover, there are so many on this site that cracked disconnects when you lose or to drink other nonsense.

In conclusion, the anonymity of the internet free bundle of great way to do anything.
Take care Laurent

In real life, it is natural to reply someone you may not have played before.

"Thank you for the offer but (choose one)...

a. not right now.

b. one butt reaming by you was sufficient.

c. my ego was crushed and I'm in no shape for a repeat.

d. I can't risk losing again, I'm becoming suicidal.

e. your deft handling of me was all the schooling I can take in one day.

f. I only accept offers for replays from losers.

g. you will never pick the low hanging fruit of me again.

h. isn't there someone who kicked your ass you can bug instead of me.

i. what would it prove, even if I could beat you next time.
