How to report it?

Thanks for your answers!

Hi, the best is just to ignore them and have fun, those people are a reality of any online community, but they aren't the majority here.

But if you insist, click on the Help & Support link that's on the bottom of every chess com page. Then click on "contact us", and then choose "report abuse".

This kind of thing is all we seem to be hearing about lately. There must be a stupidity virus roaming around chess.com bringing all the morons out with potty mouths. It'll be like every other mainstream forum site with the language and the racism if this doesn't get nipped in the rear. Not even a chess site seems to be safe. Cry

I understand your point, but compared to other sites with active forums, chess com is doing pretty good. There's nothing new, nothing unexpected. This is as good as online communities get, unfortunately. It's not something we should dwell upon.

Yeah it is. I know mods can't get everybody and everything, but yeah, they are doing a good job. But when this kind of stuff comes, it comes in droves. It makes me want to apply for a mod position. I'd probably turn into a dictator if that happened. I'd have to get my replica Indiana Jones whip out of my closet and stand vigil. Smile

What is it that most bothers you? Offensive language in forums? Trolling? I think the real idiots who insult people "just because" on the forums are pretty rare here. Other "fights" are usually just trolls enjoying their time. Unless people ignore trolls, they become involved in the practice of trolling themselves, there's no way out. Trolling comes in company, always.

The thing that most annoys me is people who insult in live games, like you resign and they say "good boy" etc. It's just, you know, pathetic. But considering how Kramnik and Anand kept their calm against Topailov and Danailov, I try to make no big deal out of such behaviour. Smile

LOL I don't like any of it. Not the trolls, not the almighty "block-happy" members that run around here using their Block button like a giant eraser. The ignorant racist people haters, the lack of manners and bad sports. I guess it's just me and I'm too oversensitive. Oh well. I'm gonna let this topic go as I myself don't want to be the target of anyone.  (fading back into the shadows)
