OMG! I cannot break 1800

It’s been a while since I was 2300 blitz too

Seems like across all ratings, blitz is tougher than bullet and tougher than rapid!!!

What I meant was, doesn't matter what rating group you are in (2500, 2000, 1000, etc.) across all categories and ratings; blitz is tougher than bullet and rapid somehow. Which means that everyone's blitz ratings are underrated.

If everyone is underrated, then no one is underrated…

Compared to lichessorg and compared to offline OTB chess.

You cannot exactly compare rating pools.

The analogy I like is money.

You take a lump of gold to Japan and you get ____ amount of Yen. You take the same lump of gold to France and you get ____ amount of Euros.

You get a different amount of currency, but neither is inflated or deflated.

In this analogy the lump of gold is your skill, the rating category is the country, and your rating is the currency.

Well, on lichessorg, made it to 1900 bullet...

Yes. I bet if I play OTBon USCF or FIDE rating then I'd bee like 1600 or 1700.

1900s hang rooks there? Time to speed run. 

I was over 2000 with all my Lichess ratings earlier this year, but a losing skid dropped one or two into the mid-1900s.

I spend no time on lichess lol

Yup. That’s all I play. Keeps me humble because I lose a lot to players rated 300-500 lower.

Forced my opponent to stalemate me to put me back into the elite 1800+ club.

Seven days above 1800 …

Suffered two losses in a row yesterday, dropping to 1805. Then played this epic battle against a higher rated player.
