One new player here!

Hey! It's a brand new player! I just want to get to know some people, I'm starting on chess, and I'm going to our school's chess club. I was surfing the internet for Haloween chess peices, because it was October 3 when I was, and I found this. AWESOME.   Any tips about chess? You know, I keep losing. But you gotta keep playing to get good, and I don't give up.

go to the library and get some beginner's books would be a good place to start. Of, course chek out all the learning stuff here, too. Tactics trainer and chess mentor are useful. And play. A lot. With many different people. Look over your games and try to figure out where you go wrong and remember not to do that again. Play unrated games against better players and ask them to critique your moves....
