Actually a good question. I don't think playing online depletes your OTB ability, but if you've never played OTB, it will take a week or two to get used to the "3D" view.

Hi chess.com community, I have just made an account on chess.com after playing on fics for a couple of months. My query is, if I only play online chess and rarely play chess over a real board, will my performance in online chess be better than chess over a real board? Maybe because i do not have the same board visulisation? (and if so, what will the difference be in terms of ELO?)
