on a one day per move game, yet my opponent refuses to make the move. They go "on vacation", they come back.
Today they came back and the clock ran down some. They are in check and have one move, at which point I will mate with one of my pawns.
I thought they were going to just let the clock run out so it would not be a loss by checkmate but they are back on vacation.
It doesn't matter to me how long they want to drag it out but I'm wondering if the rating change is different depending on how the game ends. Does a time out count as much as a checkmate? Does there being in check matter?
ok, now something weirder happened. There was under an hour left, 45 minutes or so.
I just checked back and the clock is back up to 3 hours. How does that even happen?
I've already started a new game, I blundered, it's not looking good.
