I'm really concerned with whites move 10.dxe4!? I'm really weak on that a2-g8 diagnol. I want to know if my plan was over extended and if there was a quieter way to develop an attack as early as move 8, where I could prepare for f5?
white's opening is very passive. not controlling the viral squares and allow black to penetrate

You should probably prefer 9...Bf6 to 9...e4, but this is of minor importance when you miss easy tactics like the above.
That is a tactic I missed.
