THis gives a relatively powerful overview of the Fried liver attack and how to defend against it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQwEyr5qwws
Opening Theory and Vegetarianism are both OVERRATED.

Everyone on the thread is confused. What are you two talking about?
It might seem it is an internet connection here, but it sounds like there in different rooms but under the same roof...hmmmmm...maybe spatansoda is.....well one person.

Hmmmm. They both left at the same time. All these sock puppets - I never know who to believe and who to bash. :(
well..mr tube..don't bash yourself too much, it could get messy..Usually the one whom posesses the gift of humour returns to fight another day.

Not real peace, it's a figure of speech.
shhhh.. cake mixes name is a secret..peace to you..wether you like it or not!

No more confusion here than in the typical chaotic forum thread.
The Fried Liver Attack is (I believe) -- part of the Two-Knights Opening of double King Pawn openings. You can go (almost) go blind playing it, because the tactics are so sharp.
Ditto with the Scotch Gambit Opening -- 1) e4 e5, 2) Nf3 Nc6, 3) d4 exd4, 4) Bc4...and life can get wild very quickly.
Unfortunately, black has many, many, ways of completely avoiding your opening preparations for both these openings. For example, black can play, inter alia, the Sicilian, French, Caro Kann, Pirc, Center Counter, or Modern Defense.
As a result, that part of your opening preparation from the white side is (mostly) wasted. Indeed, I made that (not especially provocative) point, early on in this thread.
Then, I went out to lunch and tried a (Ted Turner) Bison Burger. It was tasty, but I couldn't help thinking -- just a bit "wild and bloody." So I ordered a side of asparagus, as well.
That brings us back to Get the Balance Right, a Depeche Mode song from the 1980s, which was my earlier SUMMING UP.
And in some crazy, kaleidoscope, internet universe -- it all just adds up. Duh?
I'm going out for Vietnamese food later today. Ted's is a bit overpriced, but at least it's ORGANIC.
We are what we eat.
Let's SUM UP this thread -- (with deference to @Matthew11)
Playing reversed openings with the white pieces (might) save you immense amounts of study time. Eating free-range and organic (CANNOT) save you from immense amounts of opprobrium from both sides. There's a firestorm / shite storm to survive, if you deviate too far out of balance, in either of the two propositions argued above.Praise the Lord, and Pass the Ammunition.
Great comments and pictures, everyone. Except for those Monkey Brains -- Ewh, Yuk.
On balance Z,and to be fair there hasn't been many comments on chess openings here. Do you think vegetarians on vegetarian web sites discuss and debate chess openings instead of the cruel intentions of carnivores? A very pragmatic and interesting duo of title to this thread..I like it..However, freudient or not, a little chess discussion would be fair...So...Me being a little naive and not a big fan of giving inanimate objects names...What exactly is the" Fried liver attack"? This is a serious Question..well relatively!
