Out of time

I do not understand the time thing.  When a player thinks he is losing, he just goes in "Out of Time" and then he loses anyways.  What is the purpose in that manouver. Is there an advantage or is it just to make the other player look like he is inadiquate.

It's called poor sportsmanship. You just played a jerk. He made you sit and stare at a game timing out. He didn't have the guts to just suck it up and resign, admiting that he messed up. So he let it time out. Better luck next time.
