Now we know kittens don’t care for cookies. Anyway… what are the pieces typically made of for these large games?
Heerlen, south of the Netherlands, has a large open air chess set on Promenade II
The main plaza in Santiago, Chile has loads of casual chess, as does Kennedy Psark in Lima, Peru.
There are also chess tables right on Waikiki Beach, Hawaii. Used to play hours of Blitz there in the seventies...

I went to Geneva, Switzerland yesterday and there were some giant chess boards and a giant checkers board at Jeux d’échecs. Many people were there playing but I experienced some difficulty as I did not speak french.
There is a giant chess board in Oban on the West of Scotland, to the north of where I live.
I once got a bottle of whisky from Oban, as a gift, good stuff.
