It's time to end the debate on Paul Morphy, once and for all. How strong was Paul Morphy really? Would he stand up to Carlsen?
He is buried in the French quarter of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 in Louisiana.
We'll dig up his body, get a sample of DNA, and create a genetically identical clone.
We will place him in a padded room with a chess board, a chess engine, chess books, and nutritional rations until he is 10 years old, then we will have him given a chess coach (unless he is already 2800) and placed into regular tournament chess to see his potential. He will continually gain rating until we see what his peaking rating is, then he will be executed because he will be no further use to us.
I know this may seem ethically questionable, but the strain on the chess world is too great.
It's time to end the debate.
PS: You know how admins delete threads about cheating and direct people to the cheating group? They should do the same for "is chess a sport?" threads, "Was Bobby Fischer the Greatest player of all Time?" threads and "How good was Paul Morphy?" Threads. There should just be groups dedicated solely to threads on those topics.
