I understand you. It doesn't ruin it for me, but spoils the euphoria. But I think it is neccessary to run the game through computer. For example, recently I played OTB game, got a piece for 2 pawns and in few moves had to give it back. Thought it was OK, drew, we looked at the game afterwards, didn't see anything special. Then computer found I could have kept that piece and chance to win. Soon after that I play online, get the same line, get that piece, keep it and win the game. Then another time, the same, get advantage again.

Thats why the computers there. To dump a bucket of paint thinner over your delusions. Otherwise your delusions would lead you to believe you are doing fine in aspects of the game you are not doing fine in!

I just have to make sure and take my medicine. I think I've made far more progress since I've had Fritz than before. It's like having a professional on hand 24 hours a day to show you how to improve, unbeatable resource as far as I'm concerned. Would be nice if it came with some ego bandages though ; )
Does anyone else have the problem that a 'great' game is ruined after you do the post mortem? I recently ran what I thought was a solid game through fritz 6 for my usual training, and saw an unfortunate tactical shot that I missed. I know that if I was able to play 'clean' chess all the time I'd be a GM, but for some reason when I see stuff like this missed tactic, it just ruins the game for me. To me, it is like watching a finished painting get a big bucket of paint thinner splashed all over it. It is like some sick tragedy.
