Do you want us to act it out in this forum?

That sounds incredibly fun! Basically, imagine every redeeming line possible about the game of chess, "What matters is that after the game is over, you can put the pieces back, and play again"
And, "In chess, the little one can become the big one (referencing the Queen)"
- now say those lines all in a wonderful Ugandan accent, and that's the movie.

If you like hearing the word "checkmate" spoken about 500 times, you'll like it

I heard of it, but I forgot what it was.

The book is interesting and pretty good, not from a Chess but from a human interest perspective.

I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but I agree it's more of a human interest story. She gave a speech at our church a couple years ago. So I talked to her for a few minutes. Her story is great, but to be honest, she is not a really good chess  player.

In video above of Phiona meeting Kasparov, did you catch what book he gave her? Just curious which one it was.

A movie really should be made about the kid Josh Waitzkin played at the end of Searching For Bobby Fischer. That kid was homeless, on the run from the law, and him AND his sister won world championships in their age category. He was a full 1.5 years younger than Josh and still a better player even though Josh had the best of everything like tutors/coaches, a home, etc. Phiona is class C level, was poor but still had a home, and wasn't on the run from authorities. Quite a difference.
