The human mind is very flexible. Even so, it is quite possible you can visualize in one better than you can the other.
I like to use a real board because I do not have live opponents where I live. So it is the closest I can get to a real face-to-face game.
Maybe I'll put a maniquin on the other side so I have someone to give a little crap-talk to during stressful games.

Do you get a better feel or intuition if you practice with a physical board. I mean does touching physical pieces help give a better feel of the game? Eh, its a strange question but i hope you guys understand what i am trying to imply.
I really want to know, cause its kind of the thing holding me back from studying physical chess books( or ebooks) with a computer.
I am afraid that i might not have a good "feel" of the game without a physical board. Should i be afraid or nah?
