Play by Nationality?

Wondering if there's a way to choose to play people from specific countries?

Thanks.

How do you know what country someone is from, or their nationality?

No, there isn't and there's no good reason why you should care about this. I really wish chess.com would get rid of the flags beside members names, to be honest. It's completely useless information and only seems to lead to rage among members of certain political views when they lose to people of particular nationalities.

If you feel that way about it, why do you have a flag of Ireland? Why not switch it to international?

I used to do that on a previous account, but playing under an international flag is kind of a political statement as well. It's a statement I (mostly) agree with, but this isn't the place to make it.

No weirder than aliens... nationalists. But still, given that I would like to play without seeing declarations of support for their ideology it's only fair if they can do so without seeing declarations for mine.

How do you know that aliens aren't nationalists too?
