[player] may have violated our Fair Play policy

What exactly does, “[player] may have violated our Fair Play policy - it has been noted and they may have their account restricted. mean?

It seems to be triggered when someone breaks their connection essentially forfeiting the game. I’m curious because I’ve seen this a few times usually when players are on the ropes and also I accidentally broke my connection last week and wondered if this would flag me up. It’s quite right that anyone doing it on purpose should be penalised.

Also, since the player loses the game (and points) anyway then why not just resign?

It goes by how frequently it happens.

I lose connection quite often, have never been kicked.

I seen my friend kicked a week after joining.

Huh. Just had it again. My opponent wasn't disconnected. Just waited until his 8 mins ran out! Why what's wrong with resigning?! Walking off is still resigning. Infuriating!

that's why they do it. purely to annoy you. just browse the forums or whatever while the time runs out and take the rating boost.

Yeah. True. Thanks. I'm calmer now. Wink

Yeah, but that's what they're hoping - that you'll assume it's over and get distracted so they can make a move unbeknownst to you in the hope that your time runs out. It's true. I've seen it. These people are cowards.

Yah, I tried this on Yahoo! once ten years ago. I waited fifteen minutes and right at the end I moved, hoping he wasn't there. Unfortunately, he was. : \

Al Gore tried it out there before trying it anywhere else, just to make sure it would work.

Sad as it is, you nailed that right on the head lol... No doubt that whack job teaches such things in his government ran indoctrination schools.
