Nobody cares if someone does that because even IF they had done it it would be pointless. So if I encountered such a player, why would I care? Why would anybody care? I don't attribute higher value to a human being that has a verified high rating, why would I value them less if they had a very low rating?

There are some benefits to having a higher rating. Even if artificial. but we need to stop acting like it doesn't matter. When someone says they don't care about rating, they are lying worse than [political discussion is not permitted in the main forums - MG].
