Players disconnecting when facing loss

I have been playing a good deal of games the last three weeks, and have discovered that far more players choose to just disconnect rather than resign when they believe the game is lost. Is it just me, or is this rude and unnessecary behaviour?

Are there real consequenses for such players?

Chess.com now warns them for bad sportsmanship

Instead of ignore it, you may choose to block the player, so that you won't face the same one in the future.

It is probably cause they think they are grandmasters and quit cause they dont know how to lose and it destroys their ego

I think that's a guilty verdict without any proof.  I have been disconnected twice this week in games where I certainly was not losing.  Just now during a 10 minute game I got an error box pop up in Firefox that said something about https:// ...? mookie1 and code 82.   It locked up firefox and timed me out.   I have never seen this before so I think it's chess.com's fault, not mine, or that of my bt router or the bt network.  And earlier in the week I got a "connecting" problem and the spinning dice, or whatever that was, right when I was making a good move!

So do not jump to conclusions about bloody disconnects!

stop acting all hot shit, hes talking about when its obvious and their position is absolutely lost or if they blunder a queen. Yeah cause everyone he has played had an issue other than a lost position.

chess: Jump to conclusions, why don't you. The amount of guys up their own bums over disconnectors, is of biblical proportions.

I guess I missed Sunday school the day they mentioned heads up butts in the bible.

Every time one of these threads is made, God kills a kitten.  Please, stop the kitten murdering.  Please.  I'm sorry I don't have a picture to go with it.

Did you contact Babaji? Why?

Avatar of Pulpofeira

I want every woman being unable to resist my charms, and all the money I can spend! (what is a lot to say). Why else?

He he! It was a fraud actually. You can never trust Indian/ Bengali babas.

You are such an idiot. You attack people because they defend fairplay? No surprise by somebody with 17.000 games and only 1300 rating

Those kinds of players are sure afraid of lossing. Undecided.Hate to be defeated, I supposed.
