I really don't understand how people even ask this question. To me it's so blatantly obvious- OF COURSE playing the computer(bots) will make you improve! I am not an expert chess player, but I seriously don't see the difference between playing human players or bots when it comes to improving, you are still learning with every game you play.
Some in this thread knit pick the differences between robots and humans, but who cares, seriously. Yes, robots are different to humans and humans are different to each other, they all play differently. The basic truth of the mater is "Practice makes perfect" the more you play (whoever you play) the better you should get.

Most of us speak from experience.

In the early to mid-1990s, I played hundreds of games against bots (i.e., weakened chess engines). Then, in late 1995 I returned to the Spokane Chess Club for the first time in 15 years. I played six games with Peter, winning three and losing three. Peter was the weakest player in the club, but his resourcefulness was far better than the weakened bot.

I never lost to him again because once I started playing humans again, my skills returned.

Playing chess with players will make you better at playing chess with players.

Playing chess with bots will make you better at playing chess with bots.

Playing chess with cheaters will make you better at playing chess with cheaters.

@Mazzy_syr i dont think so, cause lower rated bots make random blunders that most humans dont make except if they mouse slip and higher rated bots are too hard to understand when u analyse ur game against it
