playing computer

is it just me or is the easy setting anything but!, any feedback? thanks.

Chessmaster 11 goes down to about 400 i think.  So, is that easy?  My 8 year old daughter cant beat it.  Depends on the specific program i think.  I think shredder goes as low as 750 or so, for example.

the hard fact is that it is an easier level but you may not be good enough. I know because i thought the same until i played alot more and can beat them on easy.

I've found one of the hardest things for fritz to do is turn off the ability to calculate based on material. Chessmaster does this better by just not taking pieces it should and continously hanging pieces on the lower levels.

The problem with the engine is that on at least 800 and 1200 it plays way stronger in the opening than expected and than the rest of the game. If you persevere, it will try to grab pawns and often lose minor pieces for it, resulting in very odd but winnable endgames.
