Doesn't anyone RTFM any more?
Playing selective opening with ARENA chess

what is RTFM
Read The Fine Manual.
or,
Read The Friendly Manual.
That's it, that's all that RTFM can mean. It can't POSSIBLY mean anything else.

To be fair, there isn't a lot of supportive documentation for Arena.
So far, the OP hasn't given any indication that he's lifted a finger to find the information. I'm done with lazy slobs who assume others will spoonfeed them the information.

Hi all,
Im looking for the option in ARENA to make him to play selective opening like in Fritz.
I googled but no use.
Can anyone plz tell me how to do this
I'm not entirely sure what Fritz feature you're trying to emulate. If you're looking for Arena to match the "opening training" function of Fritz, you're out of luck.
You can always input manually an opening you want to explore, but Arena does not come with any kind of "learn your openings" module. But maybe I misunderstand?

Here's a link to a pretty decent reference book for Arena.

You can set it as your Arena "mainbook" and see opening information displayed. See photo below. In edit mode you can then simply click on the move(s) you want played. I hope this is helpful.

Well then go away already. To the OP, I've tried and tried to figure out how to get Arena to play an opening line, and have had no success. Guess I'm just another lazy slob.
Well then, I guess I'll go away. I'm still waiting for one of you to say that you've RTFM. (The information is there, although not in exhaustive detail.) So we have two people who would like to do something in Arena, yet neither one of them can be bothered to spend a few minutes reading the help file? I just don't understand some people's thinking process.
