playing unrated player for rating points

This seems like the worst game  premise ever and has happened in half of my last 10 created challenges. I have no Idea of there level of play is,  and rating adjustments are after the game so they most likely would end up out of my initial seek parameters. Also I imagine even GMs started out as a 1200 here so whats my insentive to play these games. I go in blind and get minimal gains.

As you play more games, the amount of points you get per win decreases. For example, a player who has consecutevely played fifty games would receive less points beating a person than a player who just connected after a week of inactivity.

I get 4 points for a win -10 for loss and -3 for draw . I they were to beat me he would probably gain at least 300. most are not beginners at chess by the they go online to play and your level of play stays true regardless of new 1200 rating.

Shmuckley, since these players have a very high Glicko RD value, playing them will not affect your rating very much.

Edit: You posted simultaneously. 10 points are not much, but if you care, maybe try to set your search filter to exclude 1200s.

GMs don't have to start at 1200 on Chess.com :)

You can change your seek settings to find players who have played a certain number of games -- from this page: http://www.chess.com/echess/create_game

select 'Random'

Then add a number for 'has played at least __ games'

I think that whatever level the opposition is they're all there to be beaten.

GMs dont have to start at 1200 on chess.com. then start me at whatever you start them at.

It depends on what your own rating is, perhaps.  What is one was rated 800?
