I am currently considering compiling a database of my own to study with.I have decided to use ChessBase, considering how popular it is.My request lies not in the database, but in the games that will be in it.
I realize that many serious chess players have databases with millions of games. For me, this is overkill and is unnecessary.
What I am looking for:
a) Games between GMs. The more, the better, but I don’t need all of them (a few thousand is plenty).
or
b) Some of the great(est) games played.Several hundred to a few thousand games is good.Again, I don’t need a “perfect” set (it’s all a matter of opinion anyway), but I want some games that I can analyze and say “Wow” (and that shouldn't be very hard, considering how easily impressed I am).
I also realize that I can be fairly vague when asking questions sometimes, so do ask me to clarify if necessary.
Just curious: What database do you use, what do you usually do with it, and how many games do you have?

Thanks again everyone for helping me out.
