IM Nico Georgiadis appears to be a very nice guy, seeing him now in commentary box with Yifan. Despite a loss today (his first in the tournament), he finished with a 5/9 score. Nico already achieved 3 GM norms in the past and after this tournament, he's no longer a U2500 player. Therefore, we have a new GM!
Tournament Prediction Game 2017 (PPP) 🡺 "Tata Steel Chess 2018"

I have a good chance of winning if everyone else stops making predictions

Also, for the first time I am going to beat NewArdweaden, and with MSC doing well this time, closes things up at the top. Starting to look like the IndyCar standings, with everyone up top very close (top 5 are all within a race win difference)
And to check @MSC157, I did make a prediction didn't I?

Has any female won a super tournament before? Judit Polgar must have been the only other one to ever get close if she didn't win.

Hou came close to winning Gibraltar 2012, but lost in the tie-break. But that's not SGM tourney ;)
Only found this for Judit. Though just 4 players, but strong ones:

Here she won by 1½ points: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chesscollection?cid=1008117
Also, for Sinquefield, me and a few friends are doing a Last Man Standing game. Maybe we could do this here as a side event (no points)?
Rules:
- Each round, you pick one player from the line up.
- If they lose, you are out; otherwise you stay in.
- You can only choose each player once in the entire tournament (so for example, if you pick Magnus for round 1, you cannot choose him for the rest of the tournament).
- Keep going until there is one person left.
- Tiebreak is the number of wins you chose throughout (so choosing wins is better, even though draws will also keep you in).
Anyone up for this?
