Points should be different for white compared with black

I think it also depends on a person's style and openings preferences. Some openings that are more aggressive and counter-attacking, like the Sicilian, have a higher win rate percentage with black (but also a higher losing rate). Some players who specialize in certain openings can score wins easier with black than with white.

Now that I think of it... is there anyone here that has their black win rate higher than their white?

Very likely yes. Some people just, believe it or not, have more skill than you and I.

Idk how people being better than me makes their black WR higher than their white WR but ok

lol, most people just don't win more with black. don't know what @agaprni is talking about

I am talking about logical thinking. I’m talking structured ideas and critical analysis. Think. People are more skilled than you, meaning they likely have an even B/W win rate

that's not how it works. The grand majority of GM's (maybe even all) have a better win percentage with white than they do with black. Same thing with sub 1000 players. Rating doesn't change the fact that most people win more with white than black

It doesnt matter if you disagree with me, it's just a statistic. data doesn't lie

Thanks DaBaby, but I couldn’t disagree more.

Dunno how you can disagree with the facts. I mean, there is literally a table provided by drmrboss (which btw is from chess stack exchange if you need the source) where every win percentage for white is higher than black, consistently since the 1800's.

DasBurner

I'm not reading that. and you don't just win an argument by saying your thesis is "fact" when it's been proven not to be

First of all, who is drmrboss. Secondly, your point is? Are you trying to discredit my opinion? Why? Does it anger you that I have free thought? I do not see how your point proves or disproves me. But I do know one thing. I am correct and you aren’t. This explanation proves my point.

Again, you can't just say "im right you're not" in a debate. that's what children do. give some logical reasoning in your argument and i'll reconsider my viewpoint, but you haven't done that yet.

You are the type of person who believes they are right all the time. But you aren’t. I am right, making you wrong.

how did you come to that conclusion? I'll admit I'm wrong when I'm wrong, but in this case I'm not.

DasBurner

oh you're definitely a troll lmao. new account, 43 games? yeah

Marcyful

That essay is an outrageous stand and it's too many damn pages for any man to understand

lol that is laughable. Because no one agrees my POV is wrong. Please stop your bigotry. I expected more class from you.

bigotry? that's new lol

Marcyful

Yeah yeah, keep spouting unfunny troll statements like a failed attempt at a circus act.

Just like your profile photo, you think at the speed of a chimpanzee, which isn’t an insult. Please stop being ignorant. Because you are.

you know it's against TOS to have two accounts without permission from chess.com? I see you're friended to your other account lol

DasBurner

dude put the same name in both of his accounts lol

IsraeliGal

This idea is pointless because usually in tournaments and in competitive play like the world chess championships, or candidate tournaments etc, you alternate between colours, and you often play against the same person multiple times, obviously with different colours, so this points system isn't necessary.

Is having the 1st move an advantage? yes.

Is it quantifiable enough to warrant a white win not being as earned as a black win? no.

Marcyful

Eh, I've seen better troll performances

Marcyful

Decent attempt I suppose

I learn from my mentor, but I have yet to reach his level. I think putting the troll face was the dead give away. But please, don’t ban me. This was trolling. I didn’t mean what I said
