B)!

Though D) was very, very tempting...

These threads are excellent examples of how arrogance, hubris, sophistry and bluster do not compensate for a fundamental underlying stupidity.

The real Cheater_1 must be rolling over in his metaphorical grave.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Well, teacher, we shall see if the students are better by playing against them.

Make it a Queen's Gambit game, since you've argued TOO MUCH about it.

You can pick me if you want. I don't mind any challenges.

I thought it was going to be a test about email.

Huh? How is it related to email?

And, you have to thank me for the 'rebirth' of this thread.

Good afternoon, scholars of chess. Happy Friday!!

Now that that's out of the way....DOWN to business. It seems that the School Board has intervened. It seems that many of the posters in MY topics are not up to par. The Board looks at that as a FAILING of the teacher....ME. It reflects poorly on me. I have a PROBLEM with that.

Many of the posters in my topic are struggling with BASIC chess opening theory. I thought I made it quite clear that Basic Chess Concepts 101 was a prerequisite for posting in MY topics.

I don't want to do this, as it hurts the entire community as a whole, but it's POP QUIZ time. It's time to EXPEL certain individuals.

QUESTION: You are playing as white. You will begin by playing the FIRST MOVE of the Queen's Gambit. Your first move is:

A) c4

B) d4

C) Nf6

D) Nj9

E) 0-0

F) None of the above

G) All of the above

H) There are 2 possible first moves

Please post your response.

Opening Theory MUST be comprehended before anyone is allowed to post in my topics.

Based upon your rating, I'd say you should probably learn to play before posing as a chess teacher.

Okay, FIRST off, being fond of the CAPS LOCK key does not make you INTELLIGENT.

Second, I get the feeling you're trying to prove a point. The only point I could imagine that you are trying to make is that if you want to play queen's gambit, you must play d4 ( or "D4"), which is directly related to your previous post that the queen's gambit is the best opening.

HOWEVER, (I could get used to talking like this...) your previous post was flawed in many other ways, which were all pointed out to you. I don't see what you expect to accomplish by making me acknowledge that to play queen's gambit you have to play d4, which I don't acknowledge by the way. There are countless possible transpositions. But that's the way logical flawed arguments work: you get people to agree to one thing, then you make an illogical leap to a completely unfounded conclusion.

And finally, quit calling yourself a teacher. This isn't teaching, it's narcissism.

Well, just to be clear..to play the queens gambit, white has to play d4 eventually.  It just doesn't need to be on the first (or even second) move.  :)   otherwise amen.

I even wonder if our teacher here knows what en passant or underpromotion is.

Obviously the first move in the Queen's gambit is 1.f3 intending 2.g4. It's as obvious as the sheer incredible intelligence of our teacher here.

Nope, that's the King's Indian Defense.

Ah. I see. You are afraid to actually put your idea to the test.

Avatar of SenilePinkHipster

Haha. I'm having a great laugh reading your threads teacher_1, and the comments on it.

However, 1...d4 isn't best in my book. I play better games with 1...e4. You can't just say 1...d4 is best and tell everyone to play it, because we all have our preferences and because of that this lesson is worthless.

This I screwed up...  Zyrab as usual screwed everything up to begin with of course...  It was fine till he started being stupid...  oh and the answer to the question is c4.

(i ment "is" not "I" in the first sentence with the "..." after it)

Die, thread, die.

a4, (according to game explorer) gives 61.1 repeating points per hundred to white, while only 38.8 repeating to black. That is better than your d4, principal_1

Actually I do agree that 1.d4 is the best move, but the Queen's gambit is just terrible I play d4 d5 Bg5.

Love the Levitsky!! My first draw with a strong A class player began this way, but I reserve it as a surprise weapon. The Queen's Gambit suits me well.
