all of them.

attacking a teenager who just wants to play better. that's nice.

You need to learn how to play first. Here the word 'Play' does not mean knowing the 'Rules', It means the way of learning how the big players 'Think'. Without this, even if you practice 20 hours a day, it won't help. I am also a beginner and am trying to learn through videos and other sources. Still I am losing regularly, but I am seeing slight improvements in my game which makes me enjoy the game.
I practice for 3 hours everyday, yet I continue to lose games. What can I do?

keep practicing,if that doesn"t work i suggest getting a coach,i could coach you???for free,why not,just post on my wall,
also i can give you a training regime, but first i will analyse your games, respond if interested.

1. Do a book with all the tactic motifs, there are 30 of them. YOu must DREAM them.
A sign you understand tactics is when you have over 2400 at tactics trainer here.
2. Do a book with positional play ( Aagaard - positional play and Nimzovici - my system ).
Again: do ALL the exercises of aagaard - positional play. And note down the summary of new ideas.
You must have a few papers with NEW IDEAS ( for example the hook, or sacrificing a pawn to blocade his bishop or create a knight square , etc. ).
3. Do a book with endgame basics. If you wake up at 3 AM with an endgame basic position ( for example the philidor position ) and 5 seconds on the clock, you must know EXACTLY what to do.
After you finish 1, 2 and 3 => do them again. After I did them 3 times, I won games against IM at official tournaments.
So you did all that 3 times and you're still not even titled? Wow, the hopes of wannabe GMs on this site looks very slim then.
