problem with game matching timing out

I used to have a problem with not getting a game match. The matcher would just remain in motion for as long as 20 minutes and I would give up. Someone at chess.com got involved to help. I do play the longest possible time control of one hour. But still you’d think someone somewhere in the world would be available to play. I’d never had the problem for a year before that. Chess.com did make one improvement by having the matcher time out after five minutes asking you to try again after waiting a bit. That at least confirmed that the problem was not a server issue. I had not had a problem getting games for the last eight months except very occasionally. But suddenly I’m having this issue again and the matching does not time out anymore. What could be going on? Why would this suddenly become an issue again so that a third of the time I can’t get a game and also the matcher doesn’t time out? Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Ok I think I figured this out. I play on an iPad using the app and it seems the app got messed up. I cleared all the cache and restarted the app and I got a game.
