Puzzle Battle Loss/Draw Rules

Hi There,

I wanted to start a thread around the Puzzle Battle Loss/Draw rule. Essentially, I have lost a couple of Puzzle Battles matches after finishing with the same score as my opponent. This is because I have more Xs than he/she has.

Twitter thread: https://twitter.com/Husey9999/status/1573369198264614912

I believe that if the result ends tied, it should be a draw regardless of the amount of X's either person has. To me the current rules punish risk taking (i.e. attempting a puzzle late you might not know 100% and getting it wrong) and rewards cautious play. But I wanted to know what everyone else thought. Thanks!

yes annoys me to, it's a ridiculous rule. If u have a score of 30 with 30 seconds left and miss the last puzzle because it's a difficult one, it makes no sense that when your opponent reaches the same score 15 seconds later they can simply claim the win when they realise that they can't solve the puzzle.

Yeah I totally agree. It has happened to me twice that I lose the three before them and they just camp the last one because they don't understand it. It is a very cheap rule and, in my opinion, if both players end with the same score, it should be a draw. (Or even a win for the person who got to that score first :/)

I know this thread is old, but it is sad that this cheap rule is still around. Ridiculous that chess.com has not addressed this yet.

Over here still trying to understand why I lost 2 battles when I got the puzzles right and the opponent had 3 Xs and got the win, reducing my overall puzzle score to a joke.. I've red several threads and the best reply so far is to not play battles until further notice... correct?
