Puzzle Problem Explained

Hey! I just need some more help with puzzle problems. Here's another one for today.

In this position, the queen pins the rook along the king's diagonal and cannot move at all. To win this game, I played Re1, thinking that the rook will capture it and the queen will come to the back rank for checkmate. However, chess.com determined that my answer is incorrect again, and retried this solution and found out that only Qxf2 sacrifice is.

IDK why Re1 is incorrect in this case, guessing that it would win the game and another possible solution in this problem. Just LMK with your own ideas and explanations. The first to comment below will receive a new daily challenge!

Qxf2 then after rxQ re1+ then rook has to block then rook on e1 takes rook on f1 for mate(the pinned rook on f2 is protecting f1 rook)
