Puzzle rating

Hi! Newbie here. Is the rating you receive on chess.com when solving puzzles reflective of your player rating? Example: Your puzzle performance rating is 1800. Does this mean that your player rating (if you are not rated as a player)is close to the puzzle rating? I can only imagine it is a partial estimate, since a puzzle is just a few moves of an entire game. But just how "off" its it from reality? Thank you!

A person's puzzle rating will generally be much higher than a normal person-versus-person rating.  Apart from that, I don't know if someone has tried to make any trends or correlations between the puzzle rating and other categories.

@Alramech - Thank you, it makes sense. I'm curious just how removed it may be from an ELO rating. I am guessing one can be very good at solving the puzzles, including highly ranked puzzles, but not so good in a full game. Interesting.

That's part of the thing to consider - tactics (or "puzzles") are only one part of a broader chess game.  The other thing to consider is that the rating system for puzzles is different compared to actual games.  For example, you are guaranteed at least +5 points for a successful puzzle completion (and regardless of the time you spend on it to solve).
