puzzled by today’s daily puzzle - 8/2/24 - why the long face

I thought you can’t castle across a line of attack? The puzzle is solved by castling across a rooks line of attack - can someone explain?

Is it because the king doesn’t actually cross the file with the opposing rook on it only my rook does?

Yes, if just the rook cross that file, that is possible.
