Can somebody please help me get better at chess? When I search up how to get better at chess, all I get is puzzles, puzzles, puzzles! I'm improving my elo but I want to be able to skyrocket it and I don't think that puzzles are working that much.

I watched your last games. You play Rapid-games but you are did not utilise given time in full. So, first, do not rush to answer. A lot of mistakes (which I saw) go from fast moves where it’s not required.
Fetoxo
The puzzle elo is WAY too inflated. See, i have a rapid rating of ~1400-1500, but i have the puzzle rating of 2600.

@Fetoxo is right look at mine, I have a puzzle rating of like 3350 and live rating of around 2k

You’re not bad — you’re just trained in puzzles, but not in real-world chess decisions yet.

MaestroDelAjedrez2025

You need to start winning more rapid games if you wanna be a really good chess player

This is a horribly bad answer. Epic fail for your ChatGPT again.

Whose ChatGPT are you talking about?

The ChessMasteryOfficial account uses AI-generated posts in the forums. And those are complete nonsense more often than not. Like here.

In reality +1000 in puzzle rating is not exceptional, it's quite normal. The reason for that is that puzzle rating works differently than other ratings. It has absolutely nothing to do with what the AI wrote.

My puzzle rating is 2247, but I have yet to get to the quad digits. This is way more normal than you think it is. Puzzles are easier because you know you're actually playing to win, whereas in an actual game you have to figure out when it's time to go for the jugular.

In puzzles - no time pressure. And even more - you may think for infinite time.
