Queen Chasing

This seems to be a strategy used in some games I’ve played, what’s the point? Almost as if they’re trying to checkmate my queen. Not just one trap but the whole game is spent trying to trap my queen. Any queen chasers please give us some insight.

If you bring your Queen out too early, your opponent can gain time and development by chasing it around.

It allows you to develop pieces with tempo

I get it’s all fair game, just trying to understand the concept. Most times I’ll trade queens and move.
