Why does everyone like to castle Queenside so much?

Hi all,

I've played alot of Chess here and realized one thing, many of my games played involve Queenside Castling (from my opponents). Some people Castle Queenside even if it loses a piece or get into an inferior position. I don't understand why they have for "force" a queenside castling when Castling short is a viable option. Is there some fetish going on?

Thanks

Maybe just practising outcome variations

If you castle kingside ,then they castle queenside it maybe that they are very agressive players. It's easier to attack when you are on opposite sides.I had a similar mindset when i was just starting to play chess.Castle opposite.Fling the pawns.Sac sac. Mate. It's an easy formula usually without the nuances of positional play which at that time bore the hell out of me.
