Question about finding a chess database

Hey everybody. I was looking for a chess database to store all of my games and I am having trouble finding one that fits what I need. I would like a database to have the game itself, the PGN file, and the ECO if possible. Is there any database out there that can fit my needs? If so great, if not it's no big deal.

You have scid.

I'm not 100% sure I follow you.

I think most all databases, in addition to being able to open files in their own native format, also can open PGN files.   (If a database can't open PGN files, I probably wouldn't give it a second look.)

For example, ChessBase databases use their own format, but they can also save and load games that are in PGN format too.

Scid, and Scid vs. PC also can save and load in PGN.  And these two programs are also able to load files that are in a compressed format.  (si4)

The advantage of these compressed format is you can store many more games in less space.  Furthermore, the games load much faster.

Once you do open the database, no matter what format it was stored in, then becomes irrelevant.  You can then do your work in the database, load the particular game you want, sort them, search them, etc.

Also, most all databases that I've seen also store and can display the ECO code, and know what it is.

Question:  What databases have you looked at so far?

@MrEdCollins I got scid as my database and I like it a lot! Thanks for the tip!
