Question/rant: anyone else losing more than 400 points of blitz rating in few weeks?

I'm having the worst losing streak since I registered on the website. I had proudly managed to reach 1170 blitz rating, painfully slowly, to just to see it plummet to the current 740 in a couple of weeks!! I was never this low, and I don't know what is happening to me. I am playing a little bit every day, during work breaks, not changing anything in my style, always sticking to the same openings. But it seems that my opponents never make serious mistakes, even at 7-800 rating, in 3 minutes blitz. I have suspected that the amount of undetected cheaters in the website was increasing, but reading around this does not seem to be the case. Anyone else ever experiences such dips? How do you deal with them? I'm not enjoying the game anymore. I don't care about rating, but the constant losing is so frustrating, even against opponents that should be easy to beat. The feeling that I do not improve (or at least stay at the same level) at something I like, but actually get worse, ruin my days. Instead of being a relaxing break, this became a self-inflicted torture. I think I'm going to quit playing for some time sad.png

I have the same thing going for me on rapid I worked so hard to get a nice rating and beat all my friends but there are so many bots and cheaters I lost 70 elo in like 2 seconds and I know its a little off because they are acting like bots and the real humans I can beat especially at that low of a level and I know this because I have been getting back to back wins but now I am getting back to back loses its annoying at least chess.com is compensating me for some of it

Wins

some of us rapid players don't play blitz often or at all.

My blitz is currently around 400 elo lower than my rapid.

I dropped 100 points today in rapid weird bot crap

I read all over chess.com that there are not many cheaters, but it is indeed strange that until a few months ago it was easy for me to stay around 900-1000 in blitz, playing casually, while now I struggle to stay at 800, and I have to focus a lot in my games. Too many people play games with 0 blunders and 0 mistakes, only a few inaccuracies, overall accuracy often above 80% in a 3 minutes (no increment) blitz game. This does not feel normal at 7-800 rating, not even at 1000, I would say. In moer than a few cases I lost to 800-rated opponents where they had 90+% accuracy and used less time than me. I also have the occasional perfect game, but this was too frequent, like 5-6 times in 1 hour of play (different opponents). I reported them, but nothing happened.

Looks like you had several much worse losing streaks...

It also looks like as recently as February, you dropped to 785 and then went on a big winning streak.

So cheer up, there is no reason to give up now.

No? Idk to be honest, usually just play with my friends.

those times where you see me going to 300-500 I was losing on purpose, to check how fast I would take to recover from it. It may be sandbagging, I guess, I did not know it wasn't allowed at the time. I don't do it anymore.

I wouldn't say blitz, but in rapid, I've fell off.

I am 2000+ bullet player. Yesterday I lost over 150 points. Five NEW users gave me a beat down whom I have reported yesterday and is waiting for there ELIMINATION from chess.com.

But you played 114 games yesterday, so 5/ 114 isn't a high percentage and until the day before, you hadn't played in more than a month, so you may have been a little rusty.
