"Lets eat grandma" vs "Lets eat, grandma"

I stole the idea for this thread from a Facebook page.

i got that book for a present and it is apparently really funny. unfortunately, i don't know grammar well enough to get the jokes.
ha. of course, now i am wondering if i missed some sort of punctuation, so thanks for feeding my parania. oh, except for capitals. i have a hard time coordinating to hit two keys at once.

What's that up the road ahead?
What's that up the road, a head?
A woman, without her, man is a beast.
A woman, without her man, is a beast.

HA! You must marry! What are you, the pope?

I do not know what "lets eat grandma" means.
If someone is suggesting that we should eat grandma, should it not be written as "Let's eat grandma?" Shortened from "Let us eat grandma."
Let us eat grandma before the wolves do.
Lets only makes sense (to me) if someone is allowing somone else something.
"Grandma lets us eat."

Well the statement, "lets eat grandma" was a demonstration of a lack of proper punctuation. The fact that it caused confusion as to it's precise meaning, only illustrates further the point. You even suggested that one of it's possible meanings was to suggest that grandma was to be eaten. Through proper punctuation, even that possible misinterpretation could be avoided.
What I am NOT: I am by no means whatsoever an expert on punctuation or grammar. I am sure that an expert could find multitudes of errors in this long rambling by someone with a head cold in the middle of the night.
Cheers!

I see. I thought it was a comparison where two statements were almost identical but had different meanings because of punctuation. I was trying to think of how "lets" could be used in that type of sentence and I just could not see it.
Good luck getting rid of your cold.
