I am an Indian citizen. A US citizen, who has a profile by the name of [public accusations not allowed -- MOD] on chess.com. He is from Oregon, USA, send me the following racially abusive messages while we were playing a game. After which he lost to me, but this is unacceptable. Here are the messages:

[repeating ethnic abuse is not appropriate - MOD]

Please see that this kind of abuse is absolutely unacceptable...and perhaps this is the kind of person who will open fire on an Indian or some other race driven by his hate and bigotry. If you could take some action, or at least warn him, it may put things in perspective.

Ever since [political innuendo removed - MOD]. To be honest, I agree with [removed name -- MOD].

Ya I know all about that one time I was demolishing this guy much higher ranked than me and he started on a tirade of curses.

Can someone explain to me why racial insults are somehow worse than normal insults? It's something I've never understood - why so many people are so touchy about race.

[ethnic stereotyping is not appropriate - MOD] are playing strange coccomany moves in the opening and throughout the game, going g6,f6,Nh6,Bg7 and Nf7 as black, thinking they're all Naka or something, or b3 and g3 fianchettoing and playing knights to e2 and d2 as white, this is completely unacceptable and out of order. And then they are insulting you in the chat so I just turn it off immediately if I see that flag of theirs pooping up. They must think they are Nakanand or something... I don't know about the[ ethnic stereotyping is not appropriate - MOD] . So wish there was an option not to play certain nationalities in the options settings...Also this one [ethnic abuse is not appropriate - MOD] ....

I've experienced the same, I think chess.com should do something about muting messages.

This type of racial abuse is not acceptable and you need to write into support

https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new.  Please attach a screenshot of the offending comments with the game it was made in.  If you could copy and paste the link to the game even better.

I am considered "white" and I've always found the behavior of racists, who really are the inferior people, to be embarrassing. One has to be pretty insecure to try bolster one's own self-image by putting down people from other races, nationalities and ethnic groups.

races? Human beings are not dogs mkay.. Not a race thing , but nationality and culture, there are no human races, genetics tell us that much. We all belong to the human "race". Anyone thinking the opposite should probably be praying to Hitler, although he didn't end up so well now did he?

Take control of your well being. Turn off chat or develop a thick skin.  A friend of mine gave very sound advice. When you're on the internet, put your goats in the barn.
