Racist Chess

I looked at my games statistics, and I win almost 25% times more often when playing with Black (played both colors 50 times each so far).  If anything it should be the other way around.  Why do you think that is?  Is it my opening?  I always play King's Pawn when possible (e4, or e5), regardless of whether I'm White or Black.

You're just better at defending for a while than attacking.

Good observation.  I prefer defensive style of play, and it goes far beyond chess.  I approach most computer strategy games the same way.

SilverPanic

Of course you know that chess is inherently racist. Black never gets a chance to move first.

I'm friends with racists buddy. There is nothing wrong with it(except for Hitler.)

I'm not racist, but I dislike all ilegal immagrants.Chess was made in India before they knew there were black people.White and black resemble light being superior to dark in religion.

maniac2008
i really dont think chess has anything 2 do with peoples race

OH my, you have got to be kidding me- get serious for crying loud. I have, as most of you, seen various colors used in chess, the pieces are either dark or light colored- why start some mindless yet potential provocative brouhaha. Why don't you offer something informative or instructional and at the same time POSITIVE?

this would be an interesting topic if it were not for the (unecessary) reference to racism

I hope you're not being serious.  I find the topic 'punny'.

Racists add to society's diversity, hating diversity is a controversial stance. To help avoid thoughtcrimes, however, perhaps it's better switching to "Red/Blue" with regard to the game of chess. It doesn't really alter the game after all, nor it removes anything from its richness and complexity, whereas it shows more responsibility and sensitivity.

littleman

Hay u could have called it (blacks in style) hahahaha.

You most likely preffer the defend and counter style of playing and so tend to play a little better as black but thats my thoughts anyway...Cool

phillyDan

of corse it's racist!! and the white piano keys are larger than the black ones...the angel foodcake is white while the devils food cake is brown, but one ever mentions that the oreo cookie is smothering the white cream DO THEY!!!..."Come on man" don't be rediculous.

phillyDan

i'm curious about something though...How many people that actually prefer black are lefthanded? it may have a lot to do with their perception...or maybe even the rightys?

I prefer black, and I'm left handed.

But for a long time, I felt so much more comfortable playing black that I would basically give away my right to move first as white by playing Anderssen's opening (1.a3), then transpose into some sort of Sicilian defence, Najdorf variation with the colors switched.

maniac2008

... ok so it may have been a little bit insensitive 2 make the colours white v black ...
