random games and ratings

I think when the system searches for a random opponent, their highest rating should be used, not their rating in the current type of game.

I've seen 1200 rapid players with less than 900 ratings in daily. That is garbage. You'd send out a daily game request thinking you'd get someone in your rating range and you get someone 300-400 points higher. Complete nonsense.

Current rating is a reflection of current strength based on recent performance. Peak ratings don't mean a player is currently that strong

Ratings in a different format a completely different thing, especially in Daily. It's much easier to get a higher rating in Daily that may not be achievable in faster time controls by the same player.

My peak daily rating is almost 2100. In OTB I can occasionally play really good games against 1900-1900 level players but I lose the vast majority of games against players at that level. If players were paired based on peak ratings in their highest time control, many would lose a much higher percentage of games.

For example, you would be playing 1200s in rapid and blitz based on that suggestion.
