Rated and Unrated Games

Playing on chess.com, my norm is to play 5 or 10 minutes unrated, as this takes a lot of the pressure of winning off of my shoulders. However, there have been instances when I have accidentally set it to rated and then played and, due to the lessened pressure, crushed my opponents. So you think it's better to play rated, or unrated?
