What the hack...all these answers with this "it is all relative" crap. A 2000 rating would put you among the 5% best players, so yes, in an absolute terms, you are a good player - are you a top player? Or a professional grade player? No (that would start in my opinion at around 2200)..... but you can certainly say that you are at right-tail end of the distribution -- yes for most people in the world you are a very good player when you reach 2000.

In duplicate bridge one can get better by recognizing his mistakes and learning how to correct his mistakes. [and then trying hard not to continue making the same mistakes.
