Don't worry about it. Concentrate on playing good chess and your rating will take care of itself
Rating Fluctuations

Young man, try to improve your rating by just 2 points a week and in 20 years
you will be famous but still overly concerned about rating points.

Ratings fluctuate in all competitive games. That is normal. At your level, you play a lot of rapidly improving players, so the ratings of your opponents are very tenuous, and your performance level is hard to measure by ratings. Also, as others have noted, ratings are not an absolute measure of anyone's skill at chess.
I have had real trouble as of late with my rating/skills going up and down. For example, I have been rated as high as 1230 and had no trouble beating players in the 1050-1200 range and even beaten a few in the 1300's, but now my rating is somewhere around 1040 and I can hardly beat people in the low 1000's. My questions are, Has anyone else been through this before? If so, what did you do to fix it?
Thanks for the help.
