Rating jump 800 to 900 from timeouts - Chess Forums

Hi, I’m relatively new to playing on here. I got my Daily rating up to the low 800s by playing in tournaments and open challenges over a couple of months. My rating has now just jumped into the low 900s, but only because I’ve won 5 or 6 games in the last couple of weeks from timeouts when the games were barely into the middle games, a couple still really in the openings.
I’m not complaining, I’ll take all types if wins, but how common is this? Do a lot of people get rating bumps from opponents just getting bored and not coming back online?

I don’t because I make my games 5 days, or maybe I just don’t notice it.

11.5% of the daily games I win are won by timeout.
So a noticeable amount.
This is probably a common experience.
