Rating System Deflation

Is it accurate to say the competition on this site has caused the rating system to be drastically deflated? I thought you automatically were a 600 level if you know how to move the pieces. And yet there are players in the 100s in Bullet who will eviscerate you within a minute. I try not to care about rating, but what else do you have to measure your progress against?

If you go over your games, you will see that you are missing many chances.

You've got to train your eyes to spot hanging pieces. If you just start check for what's hanging before every move, you might pick up more of them.
I like Puzzle Rush. The puzzles are easy but you have to solve them quickly.
